Privacy policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

This policy explains what data aurorahour.com (“aurorahour”, “we”) collects when you use the site and what we do with it. The site is operated by SV HUB S.R.L., registered in Romania under no. J2025042940002, CUI 51977418, registered office at Str. Ielelor Nr. 16, Ap. 1, Moșnița Nouă, Timiș County, Romania, which is the data controller. Contact: [email protected].

The short version

  • No accounts, no forms, no comments. We never ask for your name or email.
  • The tools run in your browser. What you type in them is not sent to us.
  • We count visits with Google Analytics 4, only after you click “Accept”, wherever you are. Until then it is not loaded at all.
  • The site shows no ads today. If we add them, they will also need your consent first. You can opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information under Your privacy choices, and we honor Global Privacy Control.

What we collect

Server logs

Our server and our content delivery provider (Cloudflare) receive technical data with each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors, and delete it within a few weeks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

What the site does in your browser

Calculators and other tools work on your device; the values you enter are not sent to us. Pages load our own data files (/data/) from this site. If our copy is more than 30 minutes old, your browser reads the same public forecast directly from NOAA's server (services.swpc.noaa.gov), which then sees your IP address like any website you visit; nothing else is sent. The “Use my location” button asks your browser for your position and uses it only on your device to compute the forecast: it is never sent to us or anyone else, and it is not stored.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and tools are used. Google receives device and browser data and the pages visited; Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. For every visitor, from any country, Google Analytics loads only after you click “Accept”; if you choose “Only necessary” it is not loaded at all (legal basis: consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you later choose “Only necessary” with the cookie settings link, we stop measurement and delete the Google Analytics cookies from this site.

Ads

The site does not show ads today. We may show ads through Google AdSense later to keep the site free; they will load only after you consent, and this policy will be updated before that happens. Once ads are enabled, sharing data with Google for personalized ads may count as a “sale” or “sharing” under some US state laws; you can opt out at any time via Your privacy choices, and we also honor Global Privacy Control. How Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
